Isak has been tentatively linked with a move to Anfield in recent months, particularly since the January transfer window.

The striker scored the winning goal for Newcastle against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon, which has only fuelled the speculation about his future at St James' Park.

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Isak's future, which concerns Liverpool.

The report on Romano's YouTube channel claims that the Reds have already held talks with Isak's representatives over a deal to sign the striker when the transfer window opens in the summer.

It has been reported that Liverpool will face competition from Arsenal for the signing of Isak this summer.

The Gunners are apparently interested in signing the Sweden international and also have RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko on their wishlist at the end of the season.

Various reports have claimed to provide updates on Isak's future throughout the season.

The striker has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season and is battling with Mohamed Salah for the Golden Boot award in the Premier League.

It has been widely reported that Newcastle are determined to keep Isak at the club despite the rumoured interest from Liverpool.

Some reports have suggested that the Magpies would demand a fee in excess of £100million before even considering letting Isak leave the club in the summer.

"I have high ambitions," Isak said ahead of the Carabao Cup final, where he was asked about what the future may hold for him.

"I am trying to create my own history at Newcastle.

"I am happy with what I have done so far but always looking forward. I'm really enjoying my football and where I'm at in my career right now."

Rumoured interest in signing Isak has also led to speculation about existing members of the Liverpool squad. Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have all played in the centre forward role this term, and it remains to be seen if the Reds will look to sign a new striker when the transfer window opens.
