Manchester United is set to increase its season ticket prices by around 5% for the 2025-26 campaign.
This means that adult season ticket prices will now range between £608 ($790/€722) to £1,121, while the cost of under-16 tickets have been frozen.
It marks the third consecutive year that the Premier League club – currently in the bottom half of the table – has increased season ticket prices following 11 consecutive seasons of freezes. A 5% was also placed on the 2023-24 and 2024-25 season tickets.
“Our overall strategy is to price tickets at levels that keep every seat filled for every game, maximising support for the team, and providing a variety of options for different fans, including concessions for our young and elderly supporters,” said Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada.
In addition to the price increase, a £10 charge has been introduced to any fan that sells their ticket back to the club less than two weeks before the match it was for.
The season ticket holder minimum usage requirement has also risen to 16 out of 19 league games.
A new categorisation for match tickets which will see certain games priced higher has caused worry among fans.
“For several months we have argued long and hard that the club needs to look at the big picture and freeze ticket prices for next season,” read a statement from the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust.
“Other clubs have done that already and at United it would have sent a powerful message about the need for everyone to pull together to get the club out of the very difficult position it finds itself in.
“We do note that the scale of the headline increase is less than many feared and we believe the enormous amounts of dialogue that fans groups have had with the club, alongside the public pressure exerted through the media and various protests, helped restrain the increase.
“However, the new match categorisation model for non-season ticket holders is a source of major concern with fans facing additional price increases for higher-demand games.”
Similarly to Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal have both raised season ticket prices while Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Brentford, and Liverpool have all announced ticket price freezes for next season.
