" readability="31.5">Here is the xG from the Brentford game where we had the better chances but lost. Your personality will determine if you are seeing this as just a blip that will naturally right itself, or something more problematic. The opening half-hour didn’t really have any good chances, but AFCB went 1 up in the 17th minute when a cross from Kerkez was deflected into the Brentford net by Janelt (so no register on xG). On 30 minutes Brentford equalised, a corner came in from our left and Wissa beat Kepa to the ball to head in (1 in 6). Two minutes later Brentford had another good chance with Schade shooting wide (1 in 6). Bournemouth went down the other end and Evanilson had a chance (it was rated 1 in 4, but the stretch required made it more difficult). At the break, the xG was AFCB 0.73 and Brentford 0.50.

AFCB had a big chance in the opening minute of the second half, a Kluivert cross was met by Semenyo who headed hard against the bar from 8 yards (rated 3 in 10, but it felt more of a sitter). Brentford were soaking up the pressure but went in front in the 70th minute, a long throw was missed by two Bournemouth players intent on wrestling Ajer and Norgaard finished well (1 in 6). Bournemouth had another big chance in the 79th minute as a superb cross from Sinisterra found Brooks rushing in 6 yards out. Anywhere but at the keeper and it was a goal, but it hit Flekken (nearly 1 in 2). After this, Brentford saw out the game well. The final xG was AFCB 1.67 Brentford 0.83, with understat having it a little closer, at 2.03 vs 1.60.

" readability="14">There were one changes to the team who drew at Spurs. Zabarnyi (27) came in for Hill after serving his three-game suspension with Cook (4) staying right back. The first sub was in the 67th minute with Christie (10) replaced by Sinisterra (17) with Semenyo (24) switching to the right, Sinisterra on the left and Tavernier (16) moving into central midfield. In the 79th minute, Adams (12) and Kluivert (19) were replaced by Brooks (7) and Hill (23). Cook moved into central midfield with Brooks into a central attacking midfielder role. In the 85th minute, Sinisterra was substituted due to injury with Jebberson (21) brought on to play up front, although the average position showed how well Brentford saw out the game
