Liverpool have held contract talks with winger Luis Diaz in recent months, sources have told Football Insider.

The 28-year-old has just over two years to run on his deal at Anfield after joining from Porto in January 2022.

Diaz has held talks over a renewal on Merseyside but sources say nothing concrete has been worked out at this time.

The Colombia international is a long-term target for La Liga giants Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

Barca sporting director Deco is a big admirer of Diaz and is the major driving force behind the club’s interest in the 28-year-old.

Liverpool ready to sign £50m Bournemouth star

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (15 March) that Liverpool are plotting a move to sign Bournemouth sensation Dean Huijsen this summer.

Huijsen has a £50million release clause in his Bournemouth contract – and that has placed clubs on alert as they would be prepared to meet that price tag.

Liverpool plan to sign a centre-back this summer regardless of the future of Virgil van Dijk, who is out of contract in June.
