Birmingham City midfielder Paik Seung-ho reported for international duty with South Korea this week on what was his 28th birthday - and he was greeted with a hug from his national team captain and Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min who, by his own admission, had no idea beforehand!
Blues favourite Paik, who has been a stand-out player this term in what could yet be a campaign which ends with two lots of silverware, committed his future after relegation and has indeed since signed a new contract with the club.
The midfielder's performances, despite being in the third tier, have earned him a place in the international fold; South Korea will take on Oman and Jordan in World Cup qualifiers during this month's link up.

He has been joined by a host of talented stars; as well as Son and Paik, there is Hwang Hee-chan of Wolves, Bayern Munich centre half Kim Min-Jae, Paris Saint-Germain winger Lee Kang-In involved in the squad, alongside Stoke City star Bae Jun-ho.
Paik flew out to the camp on Monday and met his compatriots for their evening meal, where he was embraced by Son - who admitted to camera that it being Paik's birthday had slipped his mind!
The South Korean national team then presented Paik with a cake in the video, which can be viewed by clicking here, after which he blew out his candles and showed his gratitude to the room as they sang Happy Birthday to him.
