Tottenham head into the international break at a new low, sitting 14th in the Premier League and already eliminated from all competitions. With Spurs struggling, Ange Postecoglou appears to be on the brink of being sacked. Their 2-0 defeat to Fulham marked their 15th league loss of the season. Known for his outspoken nature, Postecoglou found himself in yet another confrontation with a fan—his third or fourth this season. Following the incident at Craven Cottage on Sunday, he has been urged to issue an official statement.
Ange Postecoglou has been urged to ignore fan criticism as Tottenham struggle.
A video surfaced on social media showing Mathys Tel conversing with Tottenham fans in the away end. The exchange remained civil, with supporters expressing their frustration over the performance while still showing support for Tel. In contrast, Ange Postecoglou had a much more heated confrontation with a fan as he walked down the tunnel at Craven Cottage.
Bryan King believes Postecoglou needs to remain calm in tense situations
Managing a prestigious club like Tottenham means representing more than just yourself—you embody the club as a whole. When a manager stirs up controversy and engages in confrontations, it reflects poorly on the club’s image. Footage shared on X by SpursArmyTweets captured Ange Postecoglou clashing with a Tottenham supporter who criticised the team’s performance against Marco Silva’s side.
However, former Spurs scout Bryan King, speaking to Tottenham News, believes Postecoglou should avoid such exchanges and instead address concerns through press conferences and official statements.

Bryan King was clearly disappointed as he expected more from Postecoglou. He added that since the fans pay for tickets, they have the liberty to voice opinions provided they are not abusive in expressing such. As for the manager, engaging in brawls serves nothing. A fact that King noted was that such indefensible activities are not new for Postecoglou this season; hence, he advised the manager to handle criticisms through off channels like press conferences or the club’s website rather than reacting in the heat of the moment.
The Ex-Scout speaking to TottenhamNews, expressed his disappointment in the Australian
“This isn’t the first time it has happened this season. Fans pay their money, and as long as they do not react in a way which is threatening or abusive, let them get on with it. Why waste your time getting involved, just walk away.”
“If Postecoglou wants to respond to this fan, do it through the press or the Tottenham Hotspur website. You don’t get involved in the moment. He needs to be above things like that.”

Postecoglou has clashed with his own fans multiple times this season, and he must learn to exercise more patience. Engaging in such incidents only damages his reputation and reflects poorly on his leadership.
