Manchester United's final Premier League position has been predicted by a supercomputer.

United went into the March international break on the back of a 3-0 win over Leicester City in the top-flight. Goals from Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes secured the win for the Reds to move up to 13th in the league standings.

Ruben Amorim's squad will now have to wait two weeks before they are back in Premier League action. United's next match will be away at Nottingham Forest on April 1 - and will have ambitions of securing the three points to climb the table in the final weeks of the season.

United have just nine league matches left to play this season, while also having their Europa League quarter-final against Lyon to navigate next month.

Opta Analyst have attempted to predict exactly how United will finish this season in the Premier League. The site has crunched the numbers and reckons United will remain in 13th until the end of the campaign.

It has been predicted that United will finish with 49 points (48.61) after their 38 matches. This would be enough to finish 13th in the table, behind Brentford (51.82) in 12th and ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (46.28) in 14th.

United currently have 37 points on the board after 29 Premier League matches - so if their prediction turns out to be accurate - it would mean Amorim's side would pick up a further 12 across their last nine matches.

This could be divided up in several different ways, such as earning three wins and three draws with three defeats. The prediction also believes United have a zero per cent chance of finishing in either the Champions League or Europa League places, and just a 0.01 per cent likelihood of qualifying for the Conference League by their Premier League final position.
