How Azeez Ojulari Can Leave Big Impact On Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman can't help himself.

After winning a Super Bowl with five key players coming out of Georgia, the longtime executive is going back to the Bulldog well - and with a player on the free agent market with plenty of upside.

The Eagles signed veteran pass rusher Azeez Ojulari to a one-year, $4 million deal on Monday afternoon. Ojulari has recorded 22 sacks through his four-year run with the New York Giants.

While he did battle injuries over the course of that time, at only 24 years old, Ojulari is a low-risk, high-upside player that the Eagles have been interested in for years now.

"I'm definitely relentless," Ojulari said in his first media session after being drafted. "Effort is never a question. I'm an all-around player. I can rush the passer, stop and run, drop in coverage or whatever I have to do to help the team, I can do it."

Coming out of Georgia in the 2021 Draft, Ojulari was a second-round pick after a 14-sack career with the Bulldogs. He helped Georgia win the National Championship in his final year with the school.

He has plenty of prior experience with the Giants - even though most of that experience comes with limited play time and on a losing team.

With the Eagles, Ojulari is expected to be in a pure pass-rushing situation. With plenty of incoming leads, Philadelphia might end up being the perfect fit for the former Giant.

As many other former New York stars have been to this point.
