What Paul Scholes spotted from Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd in ‘last few weeks’ is real eye-opener, three players singled out

Paul Scholes has dropped his clear feelings on the Manchester United squad under Ruben Amorim amid a turbulent 2024-25 Premier League season for the Red Devils.

Manchester United languish in 13th place in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have won 10 of their 29 matches in the current campaign so far.

Ruben Amorim’s men are 12 points adrift from fourth-place Chelsea and the Red Devils face an uphill battle to climb back into the top half of the table.

United are currently on course for their worst finish in the Premier League era since the inception of England’s top-flight league back in 1992.

The Red Devils are unlikely to secure European football through their finish in the Premier League table and all hopes remain on lifting the Europa League trophy.

The Europa League is Amorim’s only real shot of capturing silverware as United manager this season and securing Champions League football for next season.

Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring in the first half before Alejandro Garnacho netted United’s second after the break and Bruno Fernandes scored his side’s third.

United’s 3-0 victory over Leicester City on the weekend was the Red Devils’ final match in March before the start of the September international break.

Speaking on The Overlap, Paul Scholes admitted that United skipper Bruno Fernandes has been a real “positive” positive for Ruben Amorim in recent weeks.

Fernandes punched the Red Devils’ ticket to the quarter-finals of the Europa League next month with a stunning hat-trick in United’s 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.

Scholes also highlighted Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho for scoring against Leicester, all the while admitting that United have “looked better” in recent weeks.

When discussing the Red Devils under Amorim, United legend Scholes said: “Bruno’s a positive, I suppose, isn’t he?

“Hojlund scored. Garnacho scored. I think the last few weeks we have looked… we’ve looked better.”

What Ruben Amorim has noticed from Man Utd fans after Leicester City match

Amorim was asked about United fans’ reaction towards him after Red Devils supporters have a chant about him to the tune of Bonnie Tyler’s ‘It’s a Heartache.’

“Yeah, I cannot understand [the United fans’ chant],” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“I just want to win games and for them to have these good moments that they deserve.

“But we are far from what they want for this club. So, I don’t care away from that, with that thing. We have a lot of things to do.”

United will now travel to City Ground on 1st April after the March international break and the Red Devils will face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
