The Philadelphia Eagles' success in the 2024 season was in part a product of their heavy investment in defenders from the Georgia Bulldogs.
Philadelphia's Super Bowl-winning defense was headlined by several former Bulldogs, with Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Nolan Smith part of the defensive front that dominated in last month's blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Investing in players from a program that continues to churn out elite defensive prospects is a sound strategy, and Wednesday saw the Eagles commit to it further by bringing in another former Bulldog in a free agency deal that has the potential to be a huge steal.
The Eagles agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Azeez Ojulari, a former second-round pick of the New York Giants.
Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the deal is worth $4 million.

That is a bargain for a player who registered six sacks last year for another hugely underwhelming Giants team.
Ojulari is still only 24 years and has considerable potential as a rotational designated pass rusher on the Eagles' front with his ability to bend around the edge and flatten to the quarterback.
In addition to Carter, Davis, and Smith, Ojulari joins fellow former Bulldogs Nakobe Dean, Kelee Ringo, and Lewis Cine on the Philadelphia defense.
He will likely compete with another recent edge signing, Josh Uche, for snaps following the departure of Josh Sweat, who was instrumental in their Super Bowl run.
With the amount of familiar faces and defensive talent around him, Ojulari is in an excellent situation to prove his worth and make the kind of impact the Eagles need to ensure they are contending for a repeat in 2025.
