Jamie Carragher says '99%' of Everton fans will agree with him on what is 'holding' the club…

Everton have two weeks to prepare for their next game with players now away for the first international break of the year.

David Moyes will welcome the break with his side unable to secure a victory in their last four Premier League outings.

That is not to downplay the work done on Merseyside by the 61-year-old, with Everton now nine games in the league unbeaten.

Everton are preparing themselves for a big summer off the pitch as The Friedkin Group will have their first opportunity to put their stamp on the club.

As well as new additions to their playing squad, Everton will be making the move from Goodison Park to their new home on Bramley-Moore Dock.

Ahead of the move, Jamie Carragher has issued a message on the historic Everton stadium, which he feels most fans will agree with.

Goodison will forever have a place in the hearts of all Everton fans, but there may now be the feeling that it is time to move on.

Speaking on The Overlap, Carragher certainly feels Everton are outgrowing Goodison and will need the financial boost BMD will offer.

“I went to Goodison a lot as a kid. Obviously, watching the games I’ve got a lot of brilliant memories there,” he said.

“And it’s funny I think you were talking about the Man United stadium before and the design of it. I do think almost 99% of Evertonians do want to move. You’ve got the memories, but the stadium is holding you back.”

Carragher has warned Everton against re-signing Richarlison over the summer to boost their move into the new stadium.

But there is a clear feeling on Merseyside that the financial gains to be made on leaving Goodison will override the sentiment of staying.

Everton share Bramley-Moore Dock update

The second test event for the new stadium has now been announced for later in the month.

Bramley-Moore Dock will host Bolton Wanderers B-team and Everton’s U21s side as they edge closer to having the stadium checked off.

However, there is one big twist in the latest plans to be shared by the club.

Everton will conduct an emergency evacuation at Bramley-Moore Dock for the test event as the local authorities will assess the procedure.

A big milestone is set to be ticked off in Everton’s journey towards moving into their new stadium.
