Philadelphia 76ers: NBA Fans React to Quentin Grimes’ Historic Performance

The Philadelphia 76ers have the likes of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George. And yet, their best players this season have been Jared McCain, Guerschon Yabusele and now, Quentin Grimes.

The Dallas Mavericks were on the receiving end of a lot of criticism for trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. The decision to send Grimes to the 76ers alongside a 2025 second-round pick in exchange for Caleb Martin is starting to look like a disastrous decision as well.

Philadelphia fans have given up on this season but Grimes seems to be turning the rest of the games into his personal audition tape. And this is starting to look like a work of art, for sure.

Against the Houston Rockets, Grimes put up a career-high 46 points, career-high 13 rebounds, and a career-high 8 three-pointers as well. He had 4 assists, 2 steals and a block to go along with it.

In the process, Grimes made some history. According to Sixers Wire, he is the first player in franchise history to have 45+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ triples in a game. He is also the first player in franchise history to have 45+ points and 8+ triples in a game.

It is safe to say that NBA fans were blown away by Grimes' performance against the Rockets:

They are double face guarding Quentin Grimes like he's Davidson Steph Curry. I am in awe.

Rob Pelinka made 1 mistake in the Luka trade. He shoulda ask for Quentin Grimes to be apart of the trade.

The Quentin Grimes talk is fun and all until you realize the fans need to lock in and pressure the organization to keep him.

They should find any possible avenue to keep him.

On current form, Grimes is one of the best and most entertaining players in the league. It remains to be seen if the Sixers are able to keep him.

Grimes has been a rare silver lining in a season filled with dark clouds for the 76ers. Maybe there is some hope for the future after all.
