Myles Lewis-Skelly will be hoping to pull on the England shirt for the first time when the Three Lions take on Albania and Latvia in their World Cup qualifiers in the coming days. But Arsenal supporters cannot get a shirt with his name on the back.
Lewis-Skelly has been one of Arsenal's shining lights this season and secured his first call-up to the senior side from new manager Thomas Tuchel when his first squad was announced last week.
The 18-year-old has made 29 appearances for the Gunners this season, helping Mikel Arteta 's side to challenge for the Premier League title once more, although it looks as if they will fall short once again in that aim.
Lewis-Skelly is the latest in a long line of players to come off the Hale End conveyor belt and has already made the left-back spot his own. Now, he is raring to go on the international stage too.
After being called up into Tuchel's inaugural squad, Lewis-Skelly said: "I’m buzzing. Honesty I was so elated, just shouting around my house! Obviously I'm excited for what's coming up, but you’ve always got to stay locked in on the present and not get too attached to the feeling that’s coming later down the line.
"It's all I can ask for - I’m just so grateful to the team for entrusting me and the boss entrusting me, and I can repay them and be the best version of myself."
Lewis-Skelly will have a number of players fighting with him for that shirt for the game against Albania on Friday night, but supporters will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on an official Three Lions shirt with the Arsenal teenager's name on the back.
That is because he has not been added to the squad list on the official England online store for a 2024/25 shirt yet. And if you're thinking of adding his name yourself, you can't do that either!
When you use the official England Store and go to add a custom name to the back of your shirt, the maximum number of characters you are allowed is 10! Lewis-Skelly's name is 12 with the hyphen in the middle, meaning currently you cannot order a shirt with the Arsenal youngster's name on.
