Arsenal transfers: Fabrizio Romano reveals Arteta’s top target

Fabrizio Romano has revealed the top target of Mikel Arteta as Arsenal ready themselves for a busy summer transfer window.

Gunners are keen to put an end to their Premier League title drought next season. They are prepared to spend big in summer and improve their squad. Mikel Arteta already has some names in his mind. The transfer activity is expected to speed-up after the appointment of Andrea Berta as new sporting director.

Arsenal have attacking reinforcements as top priority in summer. But, they are also in need to bring in new midfielders. In addition, the defence may need minimum attention but a backup keeper will also be a priority.

Fabrizio Romano reveals who Mikel Arteta’s top target

Gunners are set to sign a new striker and a new winger in attacking department. As for winger, they have Nico Williams as top target. Whereas, they have been linked with multiple strikers in recent months. One of them is Alexander Isak.

“Big, big, massive proposals will come to the table for Alexander Isak. Arsenal will be there. Liverpool are also there. For Arsenal, he’s the absolute top target, Sesko is the other name on the list. They are the two main names” – Fabrizio Romano on his youtube channel.

Can Arsenal sign Isak this summer?

It will be a big challenge to lure Isak away from Newcastle United. Firstly, the Magpies have no intention to let Isak leave anytime soon. But, they may have to do so if the player pushes for the move. Earlier, it was reported that they will demand as high as £150 million for the Sweden international.

Isak has said that he is happy at Newcastle Unite. But, he wants to play in UCL regularly. Hence, he may opt to leave in summer if the Magpies finish below the top four. As of now, they have high chance of finishing in top four.
