Actor who got sick, wheel-chaired out of NBA game gives update

Tracey Morgan has updated fans after falling violently ill at an NBA game this week.

“Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning,” Morgan said in an Instagram post Tuesday.

The actor had to be wheel-chaired out of Madison Square Garden after throwing up while sitting courtside at the Heat-Knicks game Monday night, according to a video posted on X.

Another video on X indicated that the actor was bleeding from his nose and “could barely stand up.”

The incident paused the game, which was in the third quarter, for more than 10 minutes as workers cleaned up the area around Morgan’s seat, the Associated Press reported.

A spokesperson for Madison Square Garden told the AP they hope Morgan feels better soon, and they were looking forward to seeing him back in his courtside seat.

“Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!,” Morgan wrote on Instagram.

“More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs,” Morgan joked at the end of the post.

The Knicks went on to a 116-95 victory.

Morgan, 56, has experienced several health struggles over the years. The comedian has diabetes and underwent a kidney transplant in 2010.

In June 2014, Morgan broke his leg and was in a coma for two weeks after a Walmart truck hit Morgan’s limo from behind while speeding on the New Jersey Turnpike. He was wheelchair-bound for five months afterwards and had to relearn how to speak and walk.

“Hey, Knicks fam, you don’t have to post the photo of Tracy Morgan sick at the game. No one wants to see that,“ one X user wrote. ”Tracy is diabetic and a kidney transplant recipient. No matter how public the forum, no one wants to be seen that way."

“Tracy Morgan has been battling health problems for over a decade,“ another X user wrote. ”We’re not going to laugh at him for getting ill at the Knicks game. Do better."

A longtime Knicks fan, Morgan was featured prominently during the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary weekend events, at both the “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” and the live “SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration” special.

He also has a forthcoming, untitled comedy pilot on NBC, in which he plays a disgraced former football player looking to remake his image, opposite Daniel Radcliffe.
