Comedian Tracy Morgan has revealed it was food poisoning which caused him to vomit while watching New York Knicks last night at Madison Square Garden which led to their match being paused.
There was a ten-minute pause in the game during the third quarter for facilities officials to clean the floor and Morgan to receive medical attention. In a video captured by one of the game’s attendees, the 30 Rock star was seen being shepherded out of the arena in a wheelchair and appeared to be trying to stop a nosebleed with a towel.
Following the incident, a spokesperson for Madison Square Gardens said of Morgan, “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside.”
Now, Morgan has taken to Instagram to write alongside an image of him resting in a hospital bed: “Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning.”
The Saturday Night Live alum continued: “Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you.”
While he’s currently in poor health and in a medical facility, Morgan still found time to joke about his food poisoning incident, adding, “More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs”.
Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed that Morgan has been lined up to star alongside Daniel Radcliffe for a new comedy pilot for NBC. it will also see him reunite with 30 Rock’s Robert Carlock and Sam Means, who are attached to write and executive produce the pilot, and Tina Fey is also set to serve as an executive producer.
The synopsis for the untitled comedy reads: “A disgraced former football player (Morgan) is on a mission to rehabilitate his image.”
