PSG not interested in Liverpool star despite rumours

Liverpool could find their lead at the top of the Premier League table cut to just nine points by the time they face Everton in the Merseyside derby on April 2.

The Reds had established a 15-point advantage at the top of the standings, but Arsenal’s victory over Chelsea on Sunday cut the deficit to 12 points.

With the international break now taking place before the FA Cup quarter-finals take centre stage, the Premier League does not return until next month.

When it does return, the Gunners face London rivals Fulham and, by beating the Cottagers, could move to within nine points of leaders Liverpool before the Merseyside derby takes place at Anfield.

Away from the action, speculation continues to be rife surrounding the futures of three key Liverpool players, namely Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

All three players are in the final six months of their respective contracts, and club captain Van Dijk has recently been linked with a move to France.

According to FootMercato via GiveMeSport, however, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are not interested in the Dutch defender.

It had been rumoured that the centre-back had been the subject of a lucrative offer from the French side, who were said to be hoping that Van Dijk would agree to move to Paris on a free transfer this summer.

Van Dijk hasn’t been the subject of an offer from PSG

The report claims, however, that PSG have not made any form of offer to Van Dijk, 33.

The Netherlands international joined Liverpool from fellow Premier League side Southampton in 2018 and has since been a key player for the Merseyside club.

In total he has made more than 300 appearances across all competitions for the Reds, but he currently has less than six months remaining on his contract and could therefore depart Anfield as a free agent this summer.
