The Norwegian arrived from Celta Vigo on an initial loan dealwhich becomes permanent if certain performance based criteria is met this season. The 25-year-old arrived to strong fan fare having scored 13 in La Liga last season and is showing he is more than capable of thriving in English football.
The victory over the Saints means Wolves have now picked up an impressive 10 points from their last six matches to give themselves a comfortable nine point cushion over the bottom three.
Stunning Wolves stat sees them thrash Man Utd and Chelsea
Wolves have endured their most difficult campaign since returning to the top-flight in 2018 under Nuno Espirito Santo. They started the season in disastrous fashion by failing to win any of their 10 league games and were forced to wait until a 2-0 home victory over Southampton in November for their first league win.
The Old Gold had one of the worst defensive records of any team heading into the Christmas period but throughout the season under both Gary O’Neil and more recently Vitor Pereira, their saving grace has been their clinicality in front of goal, with Wolves’ forwards finding the net on 29 occasions this season. In fact, Wolves forwards have the second highest performance rate of any team in the top-flight this season, with only Nottingham Forest having a better conversion rate than the Old Gold this season.

Similarly the likes of Manchester United, Spurs and even Liverpool have failed to convert their opportunities at the same rate as Wolves, who have been reliant on the strong displays of both Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Wolves prepare for season defining month in relegation battle
As it stands, Wolves have 26 points from 29 matches and are nine points clear of Ipswich and Leicester City in the relegation zone. The West Midlands outfit are also an incredible 17 points clear of bottom side Southampton, who look destined for the drop back to the Championship.
