Married to the Game Season Two promises as much drama as the first, if we're going by its dramatic new trailer.

Marc Cucurella breaks down in tears with his wife Claudia Rodriguez while another star on the show opens up on her breast reduction surgery.

The Amazon Prime show takes a look behind the curtain at the lives of elite players' wives and girlfriends - and all the emotions they go through.

In the first series, Riyad Mahrez's wife Taylor Ward reacted with shock after learning at short notice that they had to move to Saudi Arabia after he was signed by Al-Ahli in 2023.

Ward said she was 'overwhelmed' when Mahrez informed her they would be leaving Man City and moving to Jeddah at short notice, with the winger telling her, 'It's part of the game, innit,' which many took as an unsympathetic reply.

Well, the second series promises all the same thrills and spills, retaining some of the same cast and bringing in three new couples.

Riyad Mahrez also has an emotional moment, seemingly amid his wife Taylor Ward's breast reduction surgery

Ward is shown in her hospital bed in Istanbul after flying out without the former Man City star

Mahrez and Ward remain, as do Jorginho and Cat Harding, but now Gabriel Magalhaes, Leon Bailey and Cucurella will enter the fray with their respective partners Gabrielle Figueiredo, Stephanie Hope and Claudia Rodriguez.

In an intense clip in the trailer, one of Cucurella's three kids starts crying on a luxury boat on a turquoise body of water.

Immediately after that, Cucurella and Rodriguez are filmed on a couch in a high-rise apartment as the Chelsea star breaks down in tears and says: 'We need to learn a lot.'

Elsewhere in the trailer, Mahrez's wife Taylor is pictured led down in a hospital bed for her breast reduction surgery in Istanbul.

'Only just got married, be careful,' a voice warns Mahrez on a video call as the 34-year-old fights back the tears.

There are funy moments, too. Jorginho makes a faux-pas when he addresses the camera, saying: 'The first time you saw us, we were single.'

'Single? it's called MARRIED to the Game,' hits back his wife Cat as she laughs.

In another scene, Aston Villa's Bailey goes for a spin on a quad bike with his partner Stephanie, who declares: 'We are definitely the couple with the vibes.'

The series shows the highs and lows of the wives and girlfriends' lives, including a trip to Marbella

It also tracks their growing personal brands as they pursue careers in fashion, modelling, and communications among others

It also looks like viewers will be treated to a sneak peek at Gabriel's wife Gabrielle - a convenient union of names, that - as she says: 'I want to have my own career that just belongs to me.'

The show will also follow them on holidays to destinations such as Marbella, behind the scenes in the guest boxes at stadiums, and at events where the partners grow their own personal celebrity.

A promotional release reads: 'Much more than just plus ones to their superstar partners, these women are success stories in their own right, juggling their careers with being mothers, and supporting their partners’ all-consuming careers.

'Over the course of six episodes, viewers will get an unfiltered glimpse into life off the pitch, as the globetrotting couples do things in their own unique way.

'From private jets to “Marbs”, a glamourous wedding in Lake Como, to the rush of winning the Euros and gaining front row seats at Milan Fashion Week, the cameras will be there every step of the way with exclusive access into their lives.'
