Ayden Heaven of Manchester United looks on
Manchester United centre-back Ayden Heaven has posted on social media after his injury
Ayden Heaven has broken his silence on social media after suffering a serious-looking injury while playing for Manchester United against Leicester City on Sunday.
The centre-back appeared to be in some discomfort at the start of the second half, with United 1-0 up at the time through Rasmus Hojlund's first-half finish. The 18-year-old attempted to intercept the ball at the back post and fell just off the pitch.
Heaven was subsequently stretchered off the pitch and replaced by Toby Collyer. It was a sad end for the defender who has impressed in central defence for Ruben Amorim's team since signing from Arsenal during the Janaury transfer window.
And the teenager has now thanked everyone on social media for their well wishes. The extent of Heaven's injury remains unclear, although he was seen leaving the King Power Stadium walking with a foot brace on Sunday.
"Thank you guys for all the support! I have read all your messages, and I'm doing really well and recovering fast," he said on his Instagram stories alongside a red love heart emoji and a picture of him being stretched off against Leicester.

The injury somewhat dampened what was a positive evening for United in the East Midlands. Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho saw lengthy goal droughts end in a comfortable 3-0 win over their relegation-battling opponents.
"It’s really important for him,” Amorim said of Hojlund’s first goal since December 12. “He’s doing the right things, he’s helping the team, he’s fighting for every ball and today he scored a very good goal; very important goal, especially at that moment in the game. I think he deserved that goal more than anybody."
On Garnacho, he added: "He was really happy (to score), but the most important thing is the way he’s improving his game.
"He’s playing both sides, not just on the left. He’s sprinting back. These small things he’s doing quite well, and when you do the small things in that manner the good things are going to show, and he also deserved a goal today."
