Brandon Graham's career with the Philadelphia Eagles was defined by resilience, championships, and an undeniable impact on the franchise. After 15 seasons, the veteran defensive end officially announced his retirement on Tuesday, reflecting on the highs and lows of his journey.
A first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Graham became a cornerstone of the Eagles' defense, playing a key role in two Super Bowl victories. His strip-sack of Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII remains one of the most iconic plays in team history, and despite suffering a torn triceps in 2024, he battled back to contribute in the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win over the Chiefs.
But while his career ended with accolades and success, Graham acknowledged that it wasn't always easy-especially in his early years.
During his retirement press conference, Graham opened up about the "lowest point" of his career, recalling how difficult his first two seasons in the NFL were.

"Trent Cole, them guys, and J.P. (Jason Peters), those were the two that really helped me when I was at my lowest," Graham said. "When they put that bust label on me, that was tough."
The Eagles selected Graham with the 13th overall pick in 2010, but his early production didn't match expectations.
With just three sacks in his first two seasons, critics quickly labeled him a disappointment, especially since the two players taken immediately after him-safety Earl Thomas and pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul-became stars early in their careers.
"I didn't want to go outside, I didn't want to do nothing," Graham added, explaining how the harsh criticism affected him mentally.
Despite the rough start, Graham turned things around. Over the past six seasons, he eclipsed eight sacks three times, totaling 34 sacks during that stretch.
His leadership on and off the field made him one of the most respected figures in Philadelphia's locker room, and he credited his wife for helping him through the difficult early years. She encouraged him to get involved in community work, something that not only lifted his spirits but strengthened his connection to the city.
Now retired, Graham leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, loyalty, and championship success. From overcoming doubts to cementing himself as an Eagles legend, his story is one that Philadelphia fans won't forget.
