Bruno Fernandes surely set to win Premier League award after latest Man Utd display amid four-year drought

Manchester United beat Leicester City 3-0 with Bruno Fernandes serving up another brilliant performance for Ruben Amorim.

The international break has arguably come at a terrible time for Manchester United.

United beat Real Sociedad 4-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night having drawn 1-1 in San Sebastian.

That win gives United a last eight clash against Lyon and a real opportunity to reach the semi-finals.

United then beat Leicester City 3-0 on Sunday night to pick up a superb Premier League victory.

The Foxes are destined for relegation but United put them away with little fuss, racking up seven goals in just a few days.

Bruno Fernandes’ surely set for Premier League award after Manchester United win

The star of the show for United in those two games, as if often the case, was Bruno Fernandes.

Bruno smashed a hat-trick against Real Sociedad before adding another goal to his tally against Leicester.

The United captain even bagged two assists too with his superb performance driving United to victory.

That display sends Bruno to international duty on a high, but may have also secured the Premier League Player of the Month award too.

There are no more Premier League games until April now, meaning all action for the Premier League Player of the Month award for March has already been played.

Nobody can match Bruno’s record of two goals and two assists in the Premier League this month, almost certainly handing the United star the award.

Former United winger Anthony Elanga has picked up two goals in two games, as has Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Wolves teammate Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has picked up three assists whilst Mohamed Salah scored two goals in his only Premier League game of March – two penalties.

Bruno’s four goal contributions leave him out in front though and it’s difficult to see how anybody else could snatch the award from his grasp.

Bruno Fernandes’ previous Premier League Player of the Month award wins

Remarkably, Bruno is in a huge drought when it comes to winning the Premier League Player of the Month award.

The United skipper set a new record in 2021, becoming the first player in Premier League history to win four Player of the Month awards in a calendar year.

February, June, November and December of 2020 were Bruno wins but he hasn’t managed to win the award even once since the end of that year.

Bruno has gone more than four years without the award despite often stepping up as United’s talisman.

The drought is surely about to end for Bruno this time though with his exceptional recent displays set to be recognised.
