Tottenham coaching staff have come under fire as Ange Postecoglou raged at supporters after the defeat against Fulham.

The Lilywhites travelled to Craven Cottage on Sunday (16 March) and fell to a 2-0 loss after goals from Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon.

It is safe to say that this result angered the travelling Spurs supporters which ended in a confrontation between players and fans.

Postecoglou was caught up in an altercation with a supporter but it is his coaching staff who have been called out for failing to help the head coach.

Tottenham coaching staff let Postecoglou down

It is fair to say that the senior Tottenham players were at fault to allow Mathys Tel to be involved in explosive talks with fans.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Experienced players like James Maddison and Son Heung-min failed to step in, summing up the lack of leadership in the Spurs squad.

It appears that this has been echoed by the coaching staff in North London who didn’t back their manager and have left him to struggle.

This hasn’t gone down well with former Brentford manager Martin Allen who believes Postecoglou will regret his actions after a lack of support from his team.

“The pressure has been building up on him for sure,” Allen told Tottenham News.

“Sadly, Tottenham have lost 15 matches this season and they haven’t played very well, when it doesn’t look good it doesn’t usually end well for the manager.

“His reaction to someone shouting at him from the stands will be disappointing to himself.

“I’m also disappointed in his staff for not taking him into the dressing room and away from the public’s opinion. His staff should have got him out of there so he wasn’t in that situation.

“*He will be bitterly disappointed with his reaction and regret doing it. It doesn’t look good and isn’t a good image.*“

Postecoglou could soon face Tottenham sack

It is fair to say that the former Celtic boss has undergone a tough campaign in N17 which could be difficult to recover from.

The Europa League win against AZ Alkmaar appears to have bought him some time but that may run out by the time the next round comes along.

The international break has arguably come along at a good time for the Australian who will be re-evaluating after the Fulham defeat.

Postecoglou needs results to turn around and if not, Daniel Levy and Co. seem to have Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth in their sights.
