Chelsea&Arsenal take lead in race to sign£71 million Inter star

Chelsea and Arsenal have taken the lead in the race for £71 million costing star. He currently plays for Inter Milan and is also looked upon by Premier League table toppers Liverpool.

The star in question here is Marcus Thuram who joined Inter in summer 2023. He is 27 years old and mainly plays as striker. He has established himself as a key player for Simone Inzaghi. In addition, he has been regular member of France national team.

Thuram has played 84 games for Inter so far. He has registered 31 goals along with 11 assists. His performances have not gone unnoticed as top clubs are showing interest in him. The Frenchman can be signed by paying his £71 million release clause this summer.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea and Arsenal are leading the race for Thuram. The report also adds that Liverpool are showing strong intetest. But, it can prove tricky for all clubs as Inter Milan are unwilling to part ways with Thuram anytime soon.

Inter Milan are keen to tie Thuram with a new contract. But, it will be hard for them to keep hold of the player if he himself pushes for a deal. Premier League clubs will work hard to convince the player to join them this summer.

Liverpool are keen to replace Darwin Nunez this summer. They may also part ways with Diogo Jota in order to raise funds for new striker. However, their top priority is Alexander Isak who can cost as high as £150 million.

Arsenal are also willing to spend big on striker. They too have Isak on their radar along with 21 year old talent Benjamin Sesko. Lastly, Chelsea are also willing to sign a striker but they have preferred signing young stars. As of now, their top target is Liam Delap.
