Will Stephen Curry Play During Golden State Warriors-Milwaukee Bucks?

Stephen Curry is tired. That was the notion suggested by Steve Kerr at the postgame press conference following the Golden State Warriors' disappointing 114-105 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday. The problem for Curry and the Warriors is they will be right back on the court Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Warriors superstar looked lackluster against the Nuggets. Curry only connected on 6-of-21 from the field and threw away seven turnovers in the loss at the Chase Center. This was a massive difference in play from the point guard that has otherwise been lighting up opponents since the NBA All-Star break.

"He's been amazing, he's tired, so we got to get him some rest," Kerr told Anthony Slater and the media after the loss to Denver. "You can see it, he doesn't have his energy right now."

With regard to potentially resting Curry on the second night of a back-to-back against Milwaukee, the Warriors head coach did not sound opposed to the idea.

"Potentially, I don't know, I got to talk to Rick," Kerr said of giving his point guard the opportunity to catch his breath. "He's exhausted right now. So we've got to absolutely consider giving him a night and getting him rejuvenated for the sake of him and the remainder of our games. ... We've got to find a way to get him his juice back."

Since the All-Star break, Curry has averaged 27.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game with shooting splits of 48-41-96. The Warriors have needed every bit of that production during their surge up the standings.

No one would blame Kerr and the Warriors if they were to give their veteran the rest in question here. The 37-year-old guard has a lot of mileage on his legendary career and the Warriors' aspirations for this season go far beyond winning one regular season game.
