Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano believes Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez will leave the club next summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia. Romano highlighted the failed transfer for Nunez to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr in January as the prelude to exit.
The Reds have faced a lot of pressure due to the lack of outlet in their attack against strong opponents. The problem has persisted for many seasons and it cost them both the Champions League and the Carabao Cup recently.
Despite having a decent record at Liverpool, Nunez has struggled with finishing, offside situations and inconsistency in front of goal. The 25-year-old has 40 goals and 24 assists from 136 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Benfica under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has failed to establish himself as the first-choice number nine under Arne Slot.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that he expects Nunez to Leave Liverpool with interest from Saudi clubs. He said:
“Also up front, my expectation is for Darwin Nunez to leave the club in the summer transfer window. He was close to [joining] Al-Nassr in January. Let’s see with Saudi Arabia or any other European club, but I expect Darwin Nunez to go.
The Uruguayan is not a flop but he is neither a hit due to the massive price that Liverpool paid. Furthermore, three seasons are enough for Nunez and Liverpool to understand that it is mutually beneficial to part ways.
A club of Liverpool’s stature require a number nine who is more reliable in critical situations to help the team. At the same time, Nunez’s emotional reactions are public and bring an unwanted spotlight towards the club and the fans who support him.
There are many incidences where social media’s toxicity forced the Uruguayan international to retaliate negativity and cause off-field drama. A future departure is beneficial for both the player and the club, particularly when Arne Slot lacks faith in the number nine.
