FIFA have confirmed that Jamie Donley is eligible to represent Northern Ireland with immediate effect and all relevant paperwork has now been completed.

The 20-year-old striker has previously played for both Northern Ireland and England at youth level.

Tottenham frontman Donley, who has impressed during a loan stint at League One side Leyton Orient, was handed a first Northern Ireland senior call-up for Friday's home game against Switzerland and Tuesday's match in Sweden.

Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill was unsure whether Donley could feature in the games but he’s been given the green light with the paperwork finalised.

But Huddersfield Town striker Dion Charles has joined Bolton Wanderers defender Eoin Toal in withdrawing from the squad.

Charles has pulled out of the panel with a hamstring injury.

Motherwell defender Kofi Balmer has been called up to replace Toal in the squad.

The Irish FA stated: “FIFA has confirmed Jamie Donley is eligible to represent Northern Ireland with immediate effect and all relevant paperwork has now been completed.

“Huddersfield Town striker Dion Charles has withdrawn from the squad. He has a hamstring injury.”
