Former ‘SNL’ star explains what happened at Knicks game: ‘More importantly...’

Tracy Morgan says he’s doing OK after an apparent health issue at a New York Knicks game.

The former “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” star broke his silence Tuesday, sharing a photo of himself in a hospital. Morgan was escorted out of Madison Square Garden on a wheelchair a day earlier after [vomiting while sitting courtside](https://www.syracuse.com/sports/2025/03/former-snl-star-gets-sick-courtside-delays-knicks-heat-nba-game.html) for an NBA game.

“Thank you for all your concern!” Morgan wrote on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/DHWCOw6vhE0/?hl=en) with a thumbs-up from a hospital bed. “I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!”

The game was paused as venue medical staff responded to Morgan. He was seen holding a towel over his face as he left the court.

The comedian couldn’t resist joking about it afterwards, noting that New York went on to beat the Miami Heat, 116-95. It may be the start of a new superstition as the Knicks are in third place in the Eastern Conference with a 43-24 record.

“More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court, so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs,” he joked.

Morgan, 56, is a Brooklyn native and a longtime basketball fan. He’s best known for starring on “SNL” from 1996 to 2003 and his Emmy-nominated role as Tracy Jordan on “30 Rock” from 2006 to 2013, plus movies and TV shows like “The Last O.G.,” “Rio,” “Coming 2 America,” “Martin” and “The Tracy Morgan Show.”

Morgan is also a stand-up comedian, performing a comedy show at the del Lago Resort & Casino in Upstate New York earlier this month. He also appeared on the recent “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special.

Morgan has had a history of health problems, including a kidney transplant in 2010 and a severe injury that left him in a coma for two weeks in 2014 after a Walmart truck hit the limo he was riding in.

“Feel better Champ!!!” longtime “SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson commented on Morgan’s Instagram post.

“Alright now TRACY!!!!!!! Take care of yourself. Remember that talk we had. I love you,” actress Taraji P. Henson added.

“Happy you are good, Bro,” J.B. Smoove wrote.

“Get well,” David Alan Grier said.

“Love you brother prayed all night for you,” rapper Fat Joe wrote.
