The Cleveland Browns are building towards a new future, and that new future will include a relocation. It was announced that the ownership is moving the team just outside of Cleveland, much to the chagrin of fans.
Now, it has been revealed that Browns' owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam have committed $2 billion to the new stadium. The team also showcased what the new stadium and development area will look like.
According to a post from Adam Schefter, "The Haslams have committed to privately investing $2 billion-plus in a dome stadium and mixed-use development project a mile outside Cleveland city limits, with the intention of trying to cement the team's future in Northeast Ohio."
The Browns are still set to play at Huntington Bank Field, but their lease for the stadium will officially end in 2028. It is believed that development will begin soon, that way the new state-of-the-art stadium will be ready to go in 2028.
At the very least, the Haslams are dedicating a ton of money towards the project to ensure that the Browns have a world-class stadium for the foreseeable future.
