A360

New Orleans police have made an announcement in the death of an NFL reporter at Super Bowl 59 last month.

Adan Manzano, a Telemundo correspondent covering the Super Bowl in New Orleans, was found dead in his hotel room leading up to the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. A woman has since been accused of luring the NFL reporter into the hotel room. Local police have since announced that the woman is facing a murder charge.

Danette Colbert, known locally as the "Bourbon Street Hustler," is facing a big murder charge in the death of the NFL reporter.

Local police announced that Colbert is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of the NFL reporter.

The New Orleans Advocate had more:

Danette Colbert, the woman last seen with a Super Bowl reporter who was later found dead in his Kenner hotel room, has been booked with second-degree murder in his death, Kenner police confirmed Tuesday.

Colbert, 48, of Slidell is accused of killing 27-year-old Adan Manzano, a Telemundo reporter who had traveled to the New Orleans area from Kansas City.

Kenner police investigators are expected to release more information about the new charges against Colbert at a news conference at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Security camera footage from the Comfort Inn Suites shows Manzano entering the hotel room with Colbert. The security footage then shows Colbert leaving the hotel room by herself, reentering and then leaving again on the day that the NFL reporter died.

According to a toxicology screening, Benzodiazepine - a depressant used to treat anxiety or panic - was found in his system.

Police believe that Colbert used the NFL reporter's credit card to rack up charges, as well. She allegedly used the credit card all over New Orleans.

Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley told reporters that Colbert is believed to be a "career criminal."

"She's a career criminal … Ms. Colbert has quite a record and rap sheet for confidence games, access device fraud, and robbery schemes," he said.
