When asked about the possibility of trading away Tee Higgins at the 2023 NFL Combine, Cincinnati Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin made it clear that Higgins, who had been franchise-tagged for a second straight year at the time, wasn’t going anywhere.
“Trading Tee Higgins is not on my mind. That’s their problem,” Tobin said of other teams wanting to trade for Higgins. “They want a receiver? Go find your own.”
Tobin also added that any idea that the Bengals would trade Higgins was “a little ridiculous.”
Now, with both Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase inked to long-term deals to keep the Bengals big three of Higgins, Chase, and Joe Burrow together for years to come, Tobin doubled down on his statement.
“We have our receivers. The rest of the league can go find their own,” Tobin said during a Tuesday press conference with Higgins and Chase.
