Warriors Make Steph Curry Decision Before Bucks Game

Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler and the Golden State Warriors saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end on Monday night, falling to the Denver Nuggets 114-105 without Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Curry played another long game against Denver, seeing 36 minutes of action in the loss. Following the match, coach Steve Kerr expressed his concern for his All-Star point guard, claiming Curry is "tired."

"He's tired," Kerr said. "Steph's been carrying us for a month. He's been amazing. He's tired. We gotta get him some rest. You can see it. He doesn't have his energy right now."

Kerr also added that he could "potentially" rest Curry for the second night of the back-to-back on Tuesday.

The Warriors will look to get back on track as they face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Both Giannis (right knee tendinopathy) and Damian Lillard (right groin soreness) are listed as probable for Tuesday night's game.

Unfortunately for Golden State, Kerr has elected to rest Curry against the Bucks, ruling him out for the game, per The Athletic's Anthony Slater. The former Davidson Wildcats star has also been experiencing some back pain lately.

"Steph Curry will miss the Warriors game against the Bucks tonight, I'm told," Slater wrote on X. "Steve Kerr made it pretty clear last night he felt Curry needed a rest night. Back has been bothering him recently."

The Warriors have looked like one of the better teams since trading Andrew Wiggins to the Miami Heat in exchange for Butler as part of a multi-team deal. Since his first game with Golden State on Feb. 8, the Warriors have gone 14-3 and jumped up in the standings to the No. 6 spot.

Following the Bucks game, the Warriors will get the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.
