Report Reveals Steelers ‘Getting Closer’ to Aaron Rodgers Deal

The Pittsburgh Steelers are stuck in a waiting game.

They're waiting for highly sought-after free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers to respond to their contract offer.

While the Steelers are waiting, Rodgers isn't making any noise about where he wants to play, but it's widely considered to be in Minnesota.

The problem is, the Vikings may not want Rodgers since they have last year's first-round draft pick, J.J. McCarthy, waiting in the wings.

But good news came on Tuesday as ESPN NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that sources are telling her the Steelers think they're closer to a deal with Rodgers.

"Worth Noting: One league source told me earlier today that the #Steelers* feel like they're "getting closer" on their quarterback situation," Anderson posted on X. "In their mind, that optimism pertained to Aaron Rodgers. Let's see...if that sentiment is mutually* held towards the consummation of a deal, at some point."

The New York Giants are also considered to be players for Rodgers' services.

While these reports keep emerging about possible destinations, it's important to remember that nothing is official until ... well, it is. And it's likely that Rodgers doesn't even know what he's doing at this point.
