The Dallas Mavericks have been hit hard by the injury bug as of late, and one of their many players on the sideline currently is superstar forward Anthony Davis. As he attempts to make his way back on the court for his new team, Davis' latest activity on Tuesday caught the attention of fans everywhere.
After being acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, Davis suffered a left adductor injury in his debut for the Mavericks on Feb. 8 that has sidelined him for over a month now. He was assigned to their G-League squad, the Texas Legends, on Monday though, and he's reportedly made it clear he wants to play again this season.
"Sources said there has been discussion about shutting down Davis for the season, but the superstar has been steadfast in his determination to return," Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported on Monday.
With Davis ramping up his activity, there's hope he could return and help guide Dallas to the NBA play-in tournament. On Tuesday, Davis was seen playing golf in Texas, further hinting that he's close to returning to action for the Mavericks as the playoff race begins to heat up.

With Davis and several other key players out, Dallas has struggled, losing eight of their past ten games to fall to 10th place in the Western Conference. They still hold a play-in spot currently, but the Phoenix Suns currently sit just a game behind them in the standings.
Prior to this injury, Davis was enjoying one of the best campaigns of his career. In 43 games, the 11-time All-Star is averaging 25.7 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 52.8% from the floor.
The Mavericks will look to get themselves back on track when they face off against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
