Which Bournemouth players are on international duty this month?

AFC Bournemouth are so far enjoying a marvellous season, but have endured a poor run of form in recent weeks.

A failure to win in their last four Premier League games has caused the prospect of European football to be not so secure as it had looked after a 3-1 win at **Southampton**in February.

However, the international break gives those not selected to represent their nations a chance to rest. For those that do receive the call up, it presents an opportunity to rediscover their form.

VAVEL explores which Cherries players are globe trotting this March ahead of the Premier League run-in.

Antoine Semenyo has looked exhausted in his recent appearances, having played a huge part in Bournemouth’s success so far this season.

However, there will be no rest for the winger just yet, as he will compete for **Ghana**in their World Cup qualification charge.

Sitting second in their group, the Black Stars face **Chad**on the 21st March at 19:00 GMT and then Madagascar three days later on the 24that 19:00.

Milos Kerkez has been one of the headline acts from Bournemouth’s season so far.

The dazzling full-back has top clubs calling for his signature, and a departure in the summer seems imminent.

He will have another opportunity to perform this time on an international level this month.

Hungary take on **Turkey**twice for Nations League A qualification, with the first game coming on Thursday 20th March and then the second Sunday 23rd March; both games kicking off at 17:00.

Alex Scott has looked bright since his return from injury last month.

However, the Guernsey-born youngster has been finding it difficult to earn a starting spot under Iraola, primarily due to the form of Lewis Cook, Ryan Christie and Tyler Adams.

Scott always appears to perform well while on international duty for the Young Lions.

Lee Carsley has again shown faith in Scott despite his lack of minutes in recent times.

Scott will travel with the rest of the squad across the channel to play France U21s on Friday 21st March. Following that, on the 24thMarch, the Young Lions will welcome **Portugal**to the **Hawthorns**for a 19:45 kick-off.

Justin Kluivert has been electric for Bournemouth in this Premier League campaign, netting 12 goals and notching six assists.

His great form led to his first senior Dutch minutes since 2018 in November of last year.

In this international break, the Netherlands take on **Spain**in the quarter-finals of the Nations League, the first leg taking place on Thursday 20th March at 19:45 where the Stadion Feijenoord will play host.

Three days later, the second leg will take place on Spanish soil, also at 19:45.

Dean Huijsen was initially called up to the Spanish under-21 side.

However, an injury to **Barcelona**centre-back Inigo Martinez has meant Luis de la Fuente selected Huijsen to be his replacement.

There is a scenario where Huijsen will face off against fellow Cherry Kluivert, as Spain first visit the Netherlands in the quarter finals of the Nations League on 20th March at 19:45, followed by a reverse fixture on the 23rd at 19:45.

Illia Zabarnyi made his return from suspension last time out against Brentford.

This international break will provide Zabarnyi with a good opportunity to get back up to match speed prior to a vital run-in with Bournemouth.

**Ukraine**will play twice against **Belgium**this month; firstly on the 20th March at 19:45, followed by the away fixture on the 23rd March also at 19:45.

Luis Sinisterra – Colombia

Luis Sinisterra was called up to the Colombian squad for this forthcoming international break, however, in a recent game against Brentford, the former **Leeds**man was subbed on and then removed 18 minutes later.

Iraola revealed that Sinisterra was taken off due to a reoccurrence of a hamstring injury which has kept him out for several months. Therefore, it is unlikely that he will join up with the Colombian squad.

For those outside of Bournemouth, the performances of Ryan Christie this season will be a surprise.

This is not the case if closer attention would have been paid to Christie since Iraola came in.

The Cherries' boss revolutionised the Flying Scotsman by dropping him into midfield.

Steve Clarke has not replicated what the Spaniard has done on the south coast, insisting to play Christie off the right as he did in his formative Cherries years.

**Scotland**face **Greece**twice in their bid for Nations League A qualification; first facing the Eastern European side on Thursday 20th March at 19:45 and then again on Sunday 23rd March at 17:00.

David Brooks has slowly been climbing back towards his best since his recovery from cancer a few seasons ago.

Brooks has played 25 games so far this season, grabbing four goal involvements.

**Wales**will be keen to qualify for back-to-back **World Cup**s for the first time ever.

Kicking off their qualification campaign against **Kazakhstan**on Saturday 22nd March at 19:45, then they visit North Macedonia on Tuesday 25th March at 19:45.

Tyler Adams is another player to be recalled to his national team following a strong run of form.

Adams has looked formidable in the centre of the park since seemingly putting his injury troubles in the past.

**Mauricio Pochettino**’s side will take on **Panama**in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final on 20th March, with a 23:00 start time.

Dango Ouattara perhaps will not have expected to be the Cherries’ first-choice striker for several games.

With injuries to Evanilson and Enes Unal, the former **Lorient**man has been heavily relied on by Iraola in recent months.

Ouattara has also been a talisman for his country, Burkina Faso, who currently sit third in their World Cup qualification group.

They will host Djibouti on Friday 21st March at 16:00, followed by a trip to second-placed Guinea-Bissau, kicking off at 16:00.

Despite representing England at under-18, under-19 and under-20 levels, Daniel Jebbison has chosen to switch his allegiances to Canada.

Born in Ontario, Jebbison caught the eye of international boss Jesse Marsch, and the former Leeds head coach even came down to the Vitality Stadium to watch the frontman play.

Canada, like USA, have a CONCACAF Nations League semi-final to contend with as they face **Mexico**on Friday 21st March at the 70,000-capacity SoFi Stadium.

Callan McKenna – Scotland U19’s

Callan McKenna, still just 18 years old, has received a call up for the Scotland under-19 squad.

McKenna has featured on the bench for the Bournemouth first team several times.

When he joins up with his fellow Scottish junior internationals, they will take on Sweden on Wednesday 19th March, kicking off at 15:00. Both games will be taking place in Spain, the second coming on Saturday 22nd March at 13:00.

Archie Harris – Wales U21

Archie Harris has primarily featured for the Bournemouth Development Squad so far this season.

The young defender has also spent time on loan in non-league with Torquay United and Truro City.

Harris received his maiden international call-up and is next in a seemingly endless line of Cherries players to have played for Wales in recent years.

The starlet will have his eyes firmly set on following in the footsteps of senior international Brooks.

The Welsh U21 side will play their first of two friendlies against **Andorra**on the 20th March at 11:00. The second fixture coming against Sweden on the 23rd at 13:00.
