Report: Arsenal have now made contact to sign £37m attacker who flopped at Everton

A number of Everton players who flopped on Merseyside have carved out good careers elsewhere.

Alex Iwobi is a good example of that, as he’s now flourishing at Fulham under former Everton manager Marco Silva.

Teammate Antonee Robinson is also enjoying a successful career at Craven Cottage having left Everton in 2019.

Robinson is widely considered one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and has been linked with a move to Manchester City for £40m.

Now, another former Everton player is being linked with a mega-money move ahead of the summer transfer window.

Moise Kean failed to live up to his £37m price tag when he joined Everton in 2019.

Kean scored just four goals in 39 outings for the Toffees and ended up leaving on a permanent deal during the summer of 2023.

The 25-year-old is now plying his trade at Fiorentina and is enjoying a prolific season in Serie A, netting 20 times.

That’s alerted Premier League title-hopefuls Arsenal, who have now made contact to sign him, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Kean has a £44m release clause

Kean is believed to have a £44m release clause in his Fiorentina contract and it set to attract interest from a number of clubs, not just Arsenal.

Newcastle United and West Ham are also keeping tabs on Kean, who has worked his way back into the Italy squad.

They have both made initial enquiries and are ready to rival Arsenal for his signature. Kean has four years left on his deal, so the negotiating power is with Fiorentina.

It seems the penny has certainly dropped for Kean, who really struggled to find his feet on Merseyside.
