U.S. President Donald Trump said that the question of ending American military aid to Ukraine was not discussed during his Tuesday phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“When asked about the matter in an interview with Fox News, Trump said the two leaders “talked about a lot of things” but “didn’t talk about aid at all.”
However, the Kremlin’s readout stated that Putin had demanded a complete halt to military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv as a “key condition” for starting peace talks.
The conversation lasted about two hours. Afterward, it was announced that Russia had agreed, among other things, to a U.S. proposal for a 30-day suspension of strikes on energy infrastructure.
