West Ham and Leeds United could be going up against each other in the Premier League next season. For Whites fans, it’d be another new and exciting opponent added to their list of away days.
But for the time being, Leeds United fans won’t be counting on Premier League football next season after their side’s 2-2 draw against QPR last time out allowed Sheffield United to draw level on points.
And even so, if Leeds are promoted then Daniel Farke’s side might find it very difficult to compete and stay in the top flight, as last season’s three promoted Championship teams are finding out.
The only way they’d be able to make it stick would be with a busy summer transfer window. One with some strong signings; of players with Premier League quality and pedigree, and there’s been a handful already linked with moves to Elland Road ahead of the summer.
Leeds United are linked with several strikers and also several goalkeepers. Illan Meslier’s place looks to be under threat and he could be replaced with Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale.

West Ham enter race for Leeds United target Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale has been a shining light for Southampton this season. The Saints are on course to be the Premier League’s worst ever team with just nine points to their name so far, but Ramsdale has earned plaudits. There’s growing interest in his services ahead of the summer, despite what would be a career third relegated from the top flight.
Leeds United are interested in Ramsdale, but so too are West Ham. An emerging report from Football Transfers has revealed that the Hammers are ‘lining up an ambitious double swoop’ for Ramsdale and his Saints teammate Tyler Dibling.
The same report reiterates Chelsea’s interest in the 26-year-old former England man, adding that Enzo Maresca’s side ‘have discussed him internally’ as they too look to bolster their goalkeeping department ahead of the summer.

Leeds United fans unimpressed with Aaron Ramsdale links
Speaking out on social media when Ramsdale was first linked earlier in the year, Leeds United fans gave their thoughts on the Ramsdale links and they’re largely opposed to the signing.
Their unimpressed with the amount of times that he’s been relegated from the top flight. Instead, Leeds United fan want James Trafford from Burnley although it looks like he could seal a big money move to either Newcastle United or Manchester United.
Another name mentioned alongside Elland Road is Caoimhin Kelleher, but recent reports have revealed that Bournemouth plan to make a move for Kelleher at Liverpool.
Either way, Meslier could certainly do with replacing should Leeds United earn promotion this season. Maybe even if they don’t.
