With Leeds United top of the Championship going into the March international break and only eight games left to play, promotion to the Premier League is looking like a real possibility.
One win in four has allowed Sheffield United and Burnley to close the gap, but Leeds are still best-placed to go and secure automatic promotion. Don Goodman thinks Daniel Farke’s side will hold onto their lead.
If they manage to do so, the summer window looks very interesting. The lure of Leeds in the Premier League is not to be underestimated and there will be plenty of high-profile players eyed by The Whites.
One big-name player Leeds are supposedly considering is England striker Tammy Abraham. The forward is currently on loan at AC Milan from Roma, having a hand in 13 goals for his loan side during 2024-25.

How much Tammy Abraham wants in wages to leave Roma
Described as “amazing” by Jose Mourinho on BBC Sport, Abraham is likely to be on the move again after leaving Roma on loan and a return to England will certainly appeal to the former Chelsea and Villa striker.
Leeds are expected to be in the market for a new no.9, with Graham Smyth predicting Patrick Bamford will leave in the summer. Joel Piroe has been good if a little inconsistent, while Mateo Joseph remains a talent.
Abraham then could come in. Likely to be available, Premier League quality and guaranteed goals at this level, Abraham will not be cheap. CalcioMercato claim he wants €6m a season, or a wage of £97k a week.

What Graeme Bailey told us about Leeds United landing Abraham
Any proven Premier League striker is going to cost a serious amount. But Leeds have to weigh up, is it worth spending big on guaranteed goals on going in for a potential bargain that is unproven at the top?
MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
Piroe and Joseph remain untested at Premier League level and Leeds need someone they can rely on to deal with the pressures in England’s top flight. Abraham is certainly that and Leeds are interested in him.
Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that Abraham wants to fight his way into Thomas Tuchel’s England plans and a return to England gives him the best chance. Will that be with Leeds? Who knows.
