Manchester United will play Leeds in a pre-season friendly in Stockholm this summer.

United have regularly made pre-season trips to Scandinavia and they will take on rivals Leeds at the Strawberry Arena, the national stadium of Sweden.

The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, July 19 at 2pm BST (3pm local time).

United and Leeds clashed in successful pre-season matches in front of strong crowds in Norway in 2015 and 2023, but the game will be the first fixture played between the two sides in Sweden.

The Strawberry Arena has a capacity of 50,000 and organisers are hoping the fixture will attract a sell-out crowd as Ruben Amorim looks to prepare his side for the 2025/2026 campaign.

Last summer, United played Rosenborg in Norway and Rangers in Edinburgh before flying to the United States to take on Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool in three different locations.

They then played in the Community Shield at Wembley thanks to their FA Cup success but were defeated by Manchester City on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

United have already announced they will visit the USA again this summer.

This summer is set to be a huge test of Amorim's managerial credentials as he looks to mould his squad and pre-season friendlies will, of course, play a vital role as he aims to prepare his team for the season ahead.

Leeds are currently top of the Championship and are widely tipped to win the division.
