Mohammed Kudus misses training after 3,000 mile fight as Ghanaian FA head of comms speaks out

West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus is currently out in Accra with the Ghana national team.

Mohammed Kudus has experienced a tough campaign with West Ham, but he’s still an important player for both club and country.

Kudus is adored out in Ghana, and rightly so – he’s a hugely talented player who takes great pride in representing his country.

Despite his poor form this season, Graham Potter has still taken the time to praise West Ham star Kudus to the hilt.

I personally expected a lot more from the 24-year-old forward, especially this season.

It’s amazing to think that Mohammed Kudus still hasn’t scored a winner for West Ham after being at the club for 19 months.

That’s simply not good enough for a man with his talent. Hopefully he will finish the season in strong form for the Hammers.

Boy do we need a fully firing Kudus right now. However, his absence during Ghana training out in Accra has raised some eyebrows.

Mohammed Kudus misses Ghana training

The 24-year-old was missing in action during Ghana’s training session yesterday, ahead of their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

That was in spite of the fact that he linked up with his teammates in the camp on Sunday.

So is there any reason for the West Ham and Ghana fans to be concerned?

Henry Asante Twum, who is Head of Communications with the Ghanaian Football Association, explained why Kudus missed training on Monday, as quoted by Sporty FM:

“Kudus arrived on Sunday. He was in the camp but the coach excused him from the first day’s training.“

So Kudus has just been given a rest then – that’s obviously good news.

Mohammed Kudus has given Graham Potter a massive dilemma

It’s well-known that Kudus has an £85 million release clause inserted into his contract – one that becomes active in the summer.

However, his form for the Hammers this term has been so poor that no clubs will want to pay anything like that for him.

Because of Kudus’s fall from grace, Graham Potter will have to try and get the best out of him during the final nine Premier League games of the season, or move him on in the summer for a reduced fee.

Hopefully Mohammed Kudus can finally spark his season into life with a couple of goals for Ghana and return to West Ham full of confidence.

It would be better late than never…
