McGinn has been delighted with Rashford and Asensio's performances for Aston Villa.
John McGinn has sung the praises of teammate Marcus Rashford - explaining that he's playing with a renewed joy at Aston Villa. The Scotland international applauded Rashford's stand-out performance in the recent 3-0 victory vs Club Brugge which helped rubber-stamp Champions League progression.
McGinn also highlighted that if both Rashford and Marco Asensio hit top form under Unai Emery, they would be the envy of clubs across England. Despite Rashford having not yet scored for Villa, his contribution of four assists and creating numerous 'big' chances has not gone unnoticed.
Speaking on the Manchester United loanee and Asensio's impact, McGinn told The Mirror: "Yes, both Marcus and Marco have showed glimpses which have proved they are at the highest level.
"They have both maybe lost their way, for certain reasons, but what they will get from us is love and support and teammates who will graft for them.
"We want them to be happy again. And every day that you see them, they have a smile on their face. That's when you know footballers are happy and at their best.
"In that game against Club Brugge, Marcus played his best game in that second half.
"He was a constant threat. If we can get those two firing, they're a pair that every club in the country would take."
Rashford's performances have earned him a call-up to the England squad for this month's international break.
New head coach Thomas Tuchel will oversee games against Albania (March 21) and Latvia (March 24) in charge for the first time since replacing Gareth Southgate.
The 27-year-old Rashford will be eyeing some action on the international stage. Meanwhile, Villa's next Champions League opponents, PSG, have received a significant advantage with the rescheduling of their league game against Nantes. The team managed by Luis Enrique was initially set to play the Canaries in between two matches with Villa.
