Arsenal and West Ham are both said to be interested in a former Premier League striker.

Arsenal and West Ham are both said to have made ‘contact’ over the possibility of signing a striker who is currently impressing in Serie A. Both London clubs are on the lookout for a new frontman ahead of the summer having been left short in the back-end of the season.

The Gunners decided not to sign a new striker in January despite losing Gabriel Jesus, and they were made to pay just a couple of weeks after the window when their only remaining senior frontman Kai Havertz was ruled out for the season with a hamstring injury.

It has cost Arsenal any genuine shot at the title, and it’s not a mistake they are going to make again ahead of next season,. They will be determined to sign a striker, and perhaps another squad striker to add further depth.

As for West Ham, they sign Niclas Fullkrug last summer, but the Germany striker has struggled with injuries all season, limiting his impact. Meanwhile, Michail Antonio is out for the season after shattering his femur in a car crash, and Danny Ings will be departing at the end of his contract this summer barring any surprise twists.

Graham Potter will be expecting to sign a striker or two, and it doesn’t look likely Evan Ferguson will stay beyond his loan spell.

According to reports in Italy, Arsenal and West Ham are interested in the possibility of signing Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, who has found his feet in Florence having previously struggled with Juventus and Everton as a young player. Keane has scored 20 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions this season, and that has led Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle United to make ‘contact’ over a possible summer deal, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

English clubs were said to be previously concerned with Kean’s struggles at Everton, but he is still only 25 and looking as though he has improved significantly. For Arsenal, he would be a bargain signing at £43.6million, while that would make him a marquee signing for the Gunners.

Fiorentina’s general manager Alessandro Ferrari has previously said: *"*It's not a condition we liked even though it was requested by the other side, but we tried to conclude it in the best possible way. It's a clause of 52 million that is not only valid abroad: it was made because he wanted this guarantee and we wanted it at all costs. If he then wants to leave, he will also have to give the green light".
