Arsenal to sign Viktor Gyokeres?

The Gunners are eyeing to bring in Sporting CP forward Gyokeres in the coming transfer window as per reports. And the attacker is also open to joining the English club according to A Bola in Portugal.

The Sweden international has been one of the best finishers in the world since moving to Portugal. He joined the Portuguese side from Championship club Coventry City. He has been linked to several other top teams in England and in Europe. Other Premier League side that is most recently linked with him is Manchester United. He has been in incredible form in domestic and in European competitions for the Lisbon side.

He has managed to score 39 goals in only 40 games in all competitions so far. Also adding nine assists to his name in those matches. The Gunners are looking to sign a new forward from a long time. Currently midfielder Mikel Merino is being used as a number nine at the club.

Gyokeres open to a move to England

The Swedish attacker’s exit is ‘inevitable’ this summer as per A Bola ( via Sport Witness). Arsenal are being said as the preferred club to be joined by the player. Other Premier League sides like Manchester Utd, Liverpool or Man City are also monitoring his movements.

The 26-year-old has a €100 million release clause in his contract. Although Sporting have set an asking fee of near €70 million. He will be available in the transfer market in the summer as things stand.

The north London side are in need of a striker. The coming window would be very crucial for them to make some new signings. Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are currently out with severe injuries. They will be missing the rest of the campaign. Meanwhile, Mikel Merino has been playing in the centre-forward position.
