It is now a number of years since Gordon made the move from Merseyside to Newcastle.

And the winger has certainly seen his relationship with some Everton fans deteriorate following his departure from the club.

It was suggested Gordon was pushing for a move to Liverpool over the summer despite enjoying a bright start to life on Tyneside.

Ironically, it was the Reds who Newcastle faced at Wembley over the weekend to get their hands on their first piece of silverware in 70 years.

Gordon had to watch the game from the stands, but something he’s said in the wake of the game which Everton fans will love to hear.
