According to studies from the European Commission in 2019, Ireland ranks third highest in Europe for mental health difficulties, with 19pc of the general population affected. And the latest research from homeless charity Depaul has shown that one in two of their service users struggle with depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts.

These stark figures are compounded with the fact that 36.9pc of Depaul residents reported mental health difficulties, nearly twice the national rate, and more than likely massively underestimated.
