Mel Kiper Jr. Reveals Head-Turning Browns, Shedeur Sanders Update

The Cleveland Browns have been heavily linked to Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders ahead of the 2025 NFL draft next month.

With the Browns still needing some kind of long-term quarterback option, Sanders has been viewed as a potential fix. A new update has been shared that sheds doubt on the idea that Cleveland will bring Sanders in to be its next quarterback.

Sanders has seen his name in mock drafts anywhere from the No. 1 overall pick all the way down to No. 21 recently. There is really no telling where he'll end up.

Mel Kiper Jr. has weighed in with his opinion and an update on what the Browns could do with the No. 2 overall pick.

During an appearance on "ESPN NFL Live," Kiper revealed that he does not believe Sanders will be the pick. He explained his reasoning at length.

"Shedeur Sanders, I would take," Kiper said. "But I don't know what Cleveland would do. I don't know how Shedeur feels about Cleveland, Deshaun Watson went there because of the money. Cleveland, with Shedeur Sanders in that division, and keep in mind, arm strength is not his forte, so you've got Cleveland weather, Baltimore weather, Pittsburgh weather, Cincinnati weather."

He believes that instead, Cleveland will end up going with pass rusher Abdul Carter to pair up with Myles Garrett.

"The same thing about the Giants with Shedeur as well, so with Cleveland, that why I thought maybe they would go pass rusher here and look at another one of those quarterbacks down the line, because there are four or five quarterbacks in that next tier bunched together."

"Abdul Carter is a great pass rusher, so is Myles Garrett. It's nice to have two of them, and in a conference with great quarterbacks."@MelKiperESPN thinks the Browns should draft Abdul Carter in round one pic.twitter.com/MywC2k9y8C

Many Browns fans will not be happy with Kiper's take. Cleveland has started buzzing about the idea of Sanders being its long-term quarterback.

Only time will tell, but Kiper does not seem to think that Sanders to the Browns is the most likely outcome.
