'Knowing Jack': John Terry says whether Grealish should actually leave Man City as he's…

A player whose future at Manchester City has becoming a major topic of discussion is Jack Grealish.

With the England international’s contract expiring in 2027 and him being handed limited opportunities at the Etihad Stadium, it would be fair to question whether the 29-year-old is in Pep Guardiola’s plans for the future.

It’s fair to say that Jack Grealish has become a squad rotational player at City, as Jeremy Doku has leapfrogged him as the Sky Blues’ starting left-winger. While many feel the reason behind his decline is that Grealish’s game has changed at Manchester City, his role as a ball-retentive winger made him indispensable for his side during their treble-winning season.

However, Pep Guardiola seems to be at his wit’s end with the Englishman. Grealish promised Guardiola he would redeem himself this season before last season’s FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United but that has not transpired to say the least.

With Grealish excluded from Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad as well, John Terry has chimed in on whether he should leave City in the summer.

John Terry urges Jack Grealish to “get out” of Man City

Terry knows Grealish better than most people within the game, having played with him at Aston Villa and coached him at Villa Park during his spell as Dean Smith’s assistant.

Grealish is a “special” player, as Declan Rice said and John Terry has witnessed that first-hand as both a teammate and a coach.

Terry, while speaking to talkSPORT has now urged the three-time Premier League to leave Manchester City as he is not getting sufficient playing time.

John Terry said: “Knowing Jack, Jack’s not the type of player who wants to be sitting on the bench. I don’t think it’s good for him.”

“He’s at his best playing week-in, week-out, dominating. He’s one of those players who can get at defenders and drive teams forward. He needs to start playing and looking at his options. Man City haven’t been great this year, and he’s still not getting a look in. So, from his side, I’d be a bit worried and think I need to get out.”

Two clubs already want to sign Jack Grealish from Man City

Grealish is still in the prime years of his career and with that being the case, clubs would likely be open to sign him should he leave Manchester City.

The former Aston Villa winger has proven his worth in not just the Premier League but the Champions League as well and is accustomed to winning trophies.

AC Milan are keen on signing Grealish and Tottenham Hotspur as well.

The report has mentioned that the Manchester City outcast is “open-minded” about his future.

However, both clubs might find it difficult to complete a move due to Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wages.
