Fresh Caoimhin Kelleher link could spell trouble for an Ireland teammate

Caoimhin Kelleher has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Bournemouth - and a move there could signal the end of Mark Travers’ time at the club.

Travers, who has spent the last nine years with the Cherries, is currently on-loan at Middlesbrough. It’s his fourth loan spell away from the club, after moves earlier in his career to Weymouth, Swindon and Stoke City.

He has played 82 times for the club, including five appearances this season in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old featured 45 times during the 2021/22 campaign when Bournemouth won promotion from the Championship back to the top-flight.

His next move could be a permanent one away from Dean Court - if Andoni Iraola does manage to land Kelleher from Liverpool this summer.

Several clubs are keeping tabs on the current Ireland number one, including Chelsea, Tottenham, Leeds United and Newcastle United.

Both Kelleher and Travers are currently in Bulgaria with the Ireland squad, ahead of Thursday’s Nations League promotion/relegation play-off first-leg.

Corkman Kelleher featured for the Reds in Sunday’s League Cup final defeat to Newcastle at Wembley.

It was his 18th appearance of the season and quite possibly his last for Liverpool, with Alisson set to play in the club’s Premier League title run-in.

Travers, meanwhile, has played nine times so far for Middlesbrough since his January transfer window switch.
