It has not been a good season for Tottenham Hotspur, that is clear for everyone to see. And it has felt like no one at the club has escaped criticism at some point in the campaign.
Head coach Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure, with plenty of talk about his future at the club. The Europa League is the only chance Spurs have at silverware this season, with Eintracht Frankfurt to come in a two-legged quarter final next month.
Winning that competition is Spurs' only realistic shot of European football next season too - though there is another route. The Lilywhites are 13 points adrift of Newcastle in sixth - the lowest current European place in the league this season, although that could change as the weeks and months go on.
Many players have joined Postecoglou in coming under heavy criticism this season, including Son Heung-min. With Spurs suffering in the league, there have been plenty of questions over him being the captain and his leadership of the team during tough times.
Spurs triggered the one-year extension they had on the South Korean's contract in north London, meaning he is now contracted to the club until 2026 and likely to remain the armband wearer in N17.
And while supporters may have their own opinions on what a captain should do and bring to the team, it is his output on the pitch that should be judged. Despite Spurs languishing in the bottom half of the table, Son has actually posted decent numbers this term.
When it comes to big chances created, only three other players in the Premier League have created more. Son has created 16 big chances according to the data, with Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer both on 19 and Mohamed Salah on 21.
Those 16 big chances created have led to nine assists in the top flight - a figure only beaten by Saka, Antonee Robinson, Mikkel Damsgaard and Salah.
Son has lacked when it comes to goals this season, something he will know only too well, with only seven to his name in the Premier League. But when it comes to being the creative force in the side, he is clearly doing what is required.
He may count himself unlucky too, with only three players in the league hitting the woodwork more often than him this season.
The numbers suggest that criticism aimed at Son this season may be misdirected, but the man himself would admit to being disappointed with his and the team's output.
